With employees
going back to work much slower than anyone had expected, retailers that
excelled at selling coffee and snacks during the AM Daypart have
struggled. Success does leave clues and 7-Eleven is a leader in retail for a
reason; they evolving with the consumer, albeit today at the expense of fast-food
restaurants.
Steven Johnson Grocerant Guru® at Tacoma, WA based Foodservice Solutions®, stated, “7-Eleven
took the temperature of their consumers, then decided to move with the consumer
giving them exactly what they wanted today not what they were buying yesterday.”
So, on Sept. 18, National Cheeseburger
Day, members of the 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards loyalty programs can enjoy a
cheeseburger made with Kraft American cheese for just $2. The deal is also
available for delivery through the 7NOW mobile app that day only.
Readjusting the
price value service equilibrium 7-Eleven
cheeseburgers feature quarter-pound, flame-broiled patties that are topped with
Kraft American cheese and served on brioche buns. That will surely garner trail. That is the first step to adoption and
customer migration according to Johnson.
The deal is available at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes locations
nationwide.
Then on Sept. 20, National Pepperoni
Pizza Day, the convenience store retailer will offer 7-Eleven, Speedway and
Stripes customers another hot deal. Members of the 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards
programs can purchase a whole pepperoni pizza for just $5 each. Once again
resetting the price value service equilibrium.
In case you did not know, 7-Eleven's pepperoni pizzas are crafted
with 100 percent real mozzarella cheese, thick-cut peperoni slices and sauce
made from vine-ripened California tomatoes. The discounted pies are available
in-store and via the 7NOW delivery app.
Expanding customer options, there are other
new / recent pizza offerings from 7-Eleven
include the August debut of two new varieties: the Veggie Pizza, which is loaded with toppings that suit fans of
the classics, including fire-roasted and diced red bell pepper, green bell
pepper, white onions and sliced mushrooms; and the Breakfast Pizza, which
features 7-Eleven's signature crust topped with gravy, mozzarella cheese,
cheddar cheese and breakfast sausage. Both varieties are available by the slice
or as whole pies.
7-Eleven also recently invited sports
fans to "Fuel Your Football" seasons by purchasing certain food, beverage and other items
for the chance to win an all-expense paid trip for two to attend seven games in
11 days across the United States.
Success does
leave clues. One clue that time and time again continues to resurface is “the
consumer is dynamic not static”. Regular
readers of this blog know that is the common refrain of Steven Johnson, Grocerant Guru® at Tacoma, WA
based Foodservice Solutions®. Check out our
