Bojangles Packaging Can Drive Sales

Success does leave clues and using all of the tools in your tool kit is a very good idea. Within the foodservice sector there is nothing more important or powerful today than packaging according to Steven Johnson, Grocerant Guru® at Tacoma, WA based Foodservice Solutions®.

So, Bojangles is leveraging packaging in order to extend the ‘halo’ of better-for-you around its brand this holiday season. While the pandemic has put a damper on many a holiday plan, Bojangles is bringing a little holiday cheer with extra time and cash this season. Last Monday, the Southern chain launched its second annual Holiday Big Bo Box, featuring a classic yellow design wrapped like a present in red-and-white-striped wrapping paper and a red ribbon, and an opportunity to win $5,000 in the Holiday Bonus contest.

That is a brand invitation, that is both consumer interactive and participatory that can drive both a positive emotion and hope for the reward.  Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer for Bojangles stated “Unwrapping a Bojangles family meal is one of the best gifts you can give your family – and yourself – this holiday season,” “Our Southern food is delicious, and the generous portions will fill everyone up. Plus, the time you save can be used to enter our Holiday Bonus contest, making our Holiday Big Bo Box the gift that keeps on giving!”

So, through Sun., Dec. 27, customers can use the Bojangles holiday-themed box or any other Big Bo Box in their holiday decorations, snap a photo and upload it with their e-mail address and zip code to www.bojangles.com/HolidayBonus. Entries will be judged based on creativity, photo composition and adherence to the theme. Each week, Bojangles will a pick a winner to receive a $100 Bojangles gift card, and one of those winners will earn the grand prize in early 2021.

Any Bojangles family meal, which comes ready to serve with 8, 12 or 20 pieces of hand-breaded, Cajun-spiced chicken; Southern fixin’s; made-from-scratch, buttermilk biscuits; and a half-gallon of Legendary Iced Tea, will be packaged in the restaurant’s Holiday Big Bo Box at participating locations while supplies last. Family meals are available at all Bojangles restaurants, in the drive-thru, for takeout and via delivery through DoorDash, Postmates or UberEats in most markets.

How are you inviting customers into your brand this December?  Can you say you are expanding the season with cheer?
