CryptoCoin Takeaway at Which Wich

Has the crypto currency craze reached its peak?  It just might have as Which Wich Superior Sandwiches is selling 100 Crypto Box meals per store that includes a CryptoCoin.  According to Steven Johnson, Grocerant Guru® at Tacoma, WA based Foodservice Solutions®” there are a lot of people taking about having crypto currency, if you are one of the lucky ones you will have a CryptoCoin that you can actually show them.  That just might be worth stopping by your local Which Wich.”

Focused on the growing grocerant niche Ready-2-Eat and Heat-N-Eat mix & match meal bunding platform, Which Wich has a brand-new Crypto Box meal available only on April 29 at Which Wich locations in the U.S., while supplies last.

So, the new Crypto Box meal includes any regular 7-inch sandwich, a cookie, a bag of chips and a large drink, plus as an additional gift, a limited-edition, Which Wich-branded CryptoCoin that is worth $10 on April 29 but fluctuates daily for up to two years based on Bitcoin-to-U.S. dollar conversion rates. Each CryptoCoin comes with an instruction card for redeeming the CryptoCoin’s value for Which Wich food and drink or a mailed check. The meal box is priced at just $15, and locations will offer a limited supply of 100 Crypto Box meals.

Now this is important, crypto exchange platform Gemini recently found that only 14 percent of Americans own some form of cryptocurrency, creating an opportunity to expose new audiences to crypto market dynamics through this one-day promotion.

Jeff Sinelli, Founder, CEO and Chief Vibe Officer of Which Wich, stated, “We’re excited to offer our customers a chance to dip their toes into the growth potential of the cryptocurrency market, but with the guarantee of a delicious Which Wich meal, too,” … “It’s a great way for our guests to enjoy their favorite Wich and our custom Mountain Dew VIBE, with the added value of experiencing the excitement of cryptocurrency.”

Anyone that purchases one of the Which Wich Crypto Meal box can authenticate and track the value of their free Which Wich CryptoCoin at whichwich.com/cryptobox. The coin is redeemable for food and drink at Which Wich restaurants or a check paid by mail by the Which Wich corporate office, in an amount based on their CrytpoCoin’s change in value on any given day compared to the initial $10 value on April 29, 2022, for up to two years from issuance.

Are Restaurants Ready to Evolve and Devour Customer Migration

At what point in time will chain restaurants and or independent restaurants be both willing to accept and or accommodate cryptocurrencies? Where will the tipping point be?  What’s next after bitcoin? Circle K accepts Bitcoin, Most, Landry’s Restaurants accept Bitcoin, KFC Canada accepts Bitcoin, some Subway franchisees and some Pizza Hut franchises accept bit coin.

Steven Johnson, Grocerant Guru® at Tacoma, WA based Foodservice Solutions® believes that the undercurrent of consumer acceptance of cryptocurrencies continues to rise, while restaurant consumer influencers are migrating to crypto. Industry press, chain restaurants, and independent restaurants are slow to elevate the conversation.

There is another new crypto product on the market that just might help drive incremental restaurant adoption, one that is restaurant focused, and restaurant employee targeted.  Elevating this is the advantage for restaurants to avoid or at least reduce the cost for each benefit transaction if they accept a cryptocurrency.

Did you know that the first cryptocurrency designed specifically for restaurants and the hospitality industry is officially available for buying and selling? Well, it is here and it’s called; Devour Token ($RESTAURANTS).

Devour Token is the first token of its kind solely focused on restaurants and is designed to have utility far beyond ordering food. The ERC-20 tokens are traded on the Ethereum network and accessible via a smart contract.

Devour launched on December 21, 2021 and has already created a passionate community around the project. According to the project's developers, Devour has plans for multiple utilities, including NFTs (non-fungible tokens), games, apps, and charitable work through its Devour Foundation.

Shelly Rupel, one of Devour's founders, "Restaurants are the heart and soul of this entire project for us," ... "There are more than 10 million restaurant workers in the U.S., and these employees have been hit especially hard by the pandemic. Through the Devour Foundation, our project will help restaurant workers across the country pay for their education, purchase uniforms, and better their lives. We're building a community empowered to give back to those who need it most."

As the project grows, it will partner with restaurants as a platform for branded NFTs, interactive games, integrations into loyalty programs, and more. Rupel says the first restaurant partnerships will occur during Phase 1, alongside the project's first NFT releases and charitable donations.

To help fund the project, a small portion of each buy/sell transaction is set aside for future development, marketing efforts, and charitable giving. How can you drive employee relevance?  There is a good chance it can be with some from of crypto.

Can Quiznos Cashin-In with Crypto

Gen Z and Millennials are rushing onto Crypto currencies while Baby Boomers the ilk of our own Grocerant Guru® say, why, what’s the point, and what happens when the U.S. Dollar goes digital via a ‘crypto? That said it is a very hot space and brands that embrace it have gotten lots of attention and new electricity into many legacy brands.

So, recently Quiznos, in collaboration with Crypto.com and The NFT Agency, announced the launch of a series of non-fungible tokens, marking the chain’s entry into the NFT space by featuring a collection of Quiznos “Out of this World” sandwich coins, available for 24 hours. Proceeds from the one-day sale of each token will support a nonprofit organization focused on ending hunger for communities and countries in crisis. Once again that said, this was the first but can you see where this could be going and just who would be attracted to this type of promotion.  That’s right social meal influencers.

So, the artwork – created by Sameer Baloch, a 3D digital artist hailing from Oman, whose detailed, bold pieces have made a splash in the collector community – features astronauts embarking on a brave mission to different planets throughout the crypto galaxy with the purpose of introducing innovative and alternative methods of sustainability. That my friends is the future intersecting with the present.

Now for its entry into the NFT space, Quiznos tapped The NFT Agency, a marketplace consultancy that connects creators, communities and brands through unique NFT experiences with ownable digital content.

According to The NFT Agency’s Chief Operating Officer Jesse Galati, “Sameer has built a reputation among the art and NFT community through his jaw-dropping, one-of-a-kind 3D artwork. His brilliant and artistic mind is behind some of the most exciting NFT projects happening right now.”

Each NFT purchaser will also have the chance to win a Quiznos gift card. Quiznos will provide the gift cards, and the fulfillment will be setup and managed by The NFT Agency.

The collaboration isn’t Quiznos’s first foray into embracing the future of cryptocurrency and blockchain. Just a few months ago, the brand launched a pilot program that allows customers to pay with Bitcoin at select Quiznos locations across the Denver metropolitan area, including Denver International Airport.

Mark Lohmann, president of REGO Restaurant Group, which owns Quiznos, stated, “This is an exciting opportunity for digital coin collectors to pair their love of the planet, unique art and our boldly-flavored food with an act of generosity for the global good. We’re excited to take this one small step into the NFT space and look forward to exploring more ways we can virtually—and maybe someday physically — plant flags for our out-of-this world Quiznos sandwiches in space”.

There is more good news as Quiznos plans to donate proceeds from its “Out of this World” token sales to the World Central Kitchen (WCK), a nonprofit founded by Chef José Andrés that uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond.

“We are delighted that Quiznos chose our platform to launch this NFT campaign in support of efforts to help those in need at a critical time for our planet," adds Crypto.com Executive Vice President and Global Head of NFT Joe Conyers III. "We view this as a fun way to connect our community with a beloved food brand and terrific cause.”

According to Johnson, “Brand relevance is in part driven with innovation in new food products in combination with new avenues of distribution all of which are the platform for the new electricity.”

Johnson stated “that in my minds-eye the new electricity must be very efficient for the supply and includes such things as fresh foods, developing brands, NFT’s, Crypto’s, unique urban clothing, grocerant positioning, fresh food messaging, autonomous delivery, cashier-less retail, plates, glasses, cash-less payments, digital hand-held marketing.

All retailers to survive the next generation of retail must embrace the artificial intelligence revolution while simultaneously embracing fresh food that is portable, fresh, with differentiation that is familiar not different.

At Circle K Cash is King but Bitcoin is Welcome

Timely, topical, transparent Bitcoin equals customer relevance to a new generation of consumers and Circle K wants to welcome those consumers too Circle K according to Steven Johnson, Grocerant Guru® at Tacoma, WA based Foodservice Solutions®. Customer relevance edifies your brand with consumers driving new electricity.

Recently, Circle K announced an international partnership with Bitcoin ATM network Bitcoin Depot.  For those of you who do not know, Bitcoin Depot ATMs are kiosks that enable users to exchange cash for cryptocurrency, allowing for simple, in-person transactions that give users immediate access to bitcoin and over 30 other cryptocurrencies. Yes, this is a real thing.  Once again times they are a Changin’ for those of you old enough to remember.  All retailers must continue to look a customer ahead according to Johnson.

If you did not know that there has been unprecedented growth of digital currency.  Which has led to large retail companies finding growing interest in Bitcoin ATMs. As one of the world’s leading convenience and fuel retailers, Circle K is the first major retail chain to deploy Bitcoin ATMs within its stores.

Bitcoin Depot CEO Brandon Mintz, stated, “We’re thrilled to create a long-term, strategic partnership with Circle K and to expand our footprint internationally with a global leader in convenience and fuel retail.”… “Circle K understands that cryptocurrency will be a growing part of the future economy and payments landscape. By adding Bitcoin ATMs to the company’s stores, Circle K can attract new customers to their stores, offer financial access to underserved communities, and set themselves apart from other retailers with this new technology.”

There is no doubt that demand for cryptocurrency will continue to increase, that more and more customers will be visiting convenience stores to use Bitcoin ATMs. So, to use a Bitcoin ATM, someone would visit a Bitcoin Depot ATM within a Circle K, insert cash after providing his or her crypto wallet address, and crypto would be sent immediately to the wallet. The whole process from signing up for an account to completing a transaction takes just a few minutes. Bitcoin Depot ATM locations can be found by visiting bitcoindepot.com where all Circle K locations with bitcoin ATMs are listed.

Circle K Senior Vice President Global Merchandise and Procurement Denny Tewell, stated “At Circle K, we are passionate about making our customers’ lives a little easier every day, and we are continually looking at ways to enhance their experience in our stores and be their favorite stop for a growing range of needs and occasions,” …“Our partnership with Bitcoin Depot further builds on this commitment, giving our brand an important, early presence in the fast-growing cryptocurrency marketplace as a convenient destination where customers can buy Bitcoin.”

How are you building customer relevance?  Who is your next new customer?  How are they going to be paying their bill?  Brands need customer relevance to drive new electricity into the brand.

According to Johnson, “Brand relevance is in part driven with innovation in new food products in combination with new avenues of distribution all of which are the platform for the new electricity.”  That said, what are you waiting for?

Johnson, stated, “that in my minds-eye the new electricity must be very efficient for the supply and includes such things as fresh foods, developing brands, unique urban clothing, grocerant positioning, Fresh food messaging, autonomous delivery, cashier-less retail, plates, glasses, cash-less payments, digital hand-held marketing.

All retailers to survive the next generation of retail must embrace the artificial intelligence revolution while simultaneously embracing fresh food that is portable, fresh, with differentiation that is familiar not different.
