Sheetz Innovation Is the Future

Google contines to expand it’s driverless car testing on the west coast complicating Ubers goal of second vehical domanance.  All the while on the east coast Sheetz is opening its second convenience store without gas pumps near Penn State University.  It may not be selling gas but it’s sure to drive sales momentum with a beer cave and casual dining options.

Emily Sheetz, the company's director of special projects stated "The new Sheetz concept is the fulfillment of a goal and our relentless pursuit of innovation in the food and beverage category" … It will create [a] new way for our customers to enjoy our food in a casual dining experience. Our pioneering spirit has led us to this point. This is the next generation of Sheetz."

This new Sheetz concept store will be the second of its kind.  It will be the first gas-free store with a beer cave however.  Joe Sheetz has for several years been describing his company as a restaurant company that sells gas.  This second concept store is expanding on that view and customer reality according to our own Grocerant Guru™.

Emily Sheetz  said that the development of the store concept evolved or about two years.  The new store is closer to a restaurant than traditional C-store.   In addition to the beer cave, it will feature hot and cold ready-to-eat products; Sheetz' Made-To-Order subs, sandwiches and salads; Sheetz Bros. Coffeez; a pizza oven and more. It will also offer a tray service concept that lets customers eat at a table inside or outside the store. Consumers are dynamic not static, brands must be dynamic as well.  Sheetz is evolving success with consumers and that is our success clue for today.
