Is Postmates Becoming America’s General Store?

While many traditional retailers are testing delivery with click & collect, and direct delivery  Postmates has been building largest on-demand delivery fleet in the country.  Selling / delivering everything from items the like of pens & paper, coffee, meals that are Ready-2-Eat or Heat-N-Eat, to liquor.

However in between the pens, paper, and liquor are branded foods that are providing a halo of ‘better for you’ for the Postmates brand itself.  Companies the ilk of Chipotle, Starbucks, McDonald’s and PizzaRev  are utilizing Postmates to deliver goods.

Postmates is fast becoming a disrupting force within the retail supply chain and a threat to many a legacy retailer as they expand their offerings.  Most of the branded partnership require that a flat $4.99 delivery fee which is less than at Amazon, Instacart, and Uber.  In fact Foodservice Solutions® Grocerant Guru™ believes Postmates will grow faster than Amazon did.

Postmates is exploiting its advanced mobile platform and delivery infrastructure to support its sales growth. Third-party aggregators including Postmates are proving a service and an additional level of security for legacy chains. That not to mention they maintain and upgrade the software.

Innovative, and aggressive Postmates is growing fast and currently delivers ‘on-demand’ products in 67 markets around the country. All of which means that today lots of Americans can use Postmates mobile service to get practically anything delivered within an hour for a small fee including Ready-2-Eat and Heat-N-Eat fresh prepared food.
