Whole Foods Understands When the Customer Moves the Company Must Move

This might surprise some of you but Wall-Street analysts have missed the undercurrents of foodservice customer migration once again according to Foodservice Solutions®, Grocerant Guru®.  The good news is that Whole Foods did not miss the move.  Even more important they have done all of the right things to position themselves as the leader in ‘better for you’ grocerant niche Ready-2-Eat and Heat-N-Eat fresh prepared food.

Today, retail foodservice needs to be increasingly consumer interactive, participatory, and price competitive.  No one understands that better than Whole Foods according to our team at Foodservice Solutions®  Whole Foods is evolving with a new concept 365.  365 will provide a platform for growth that our Grocerant Guru® continues to believe will expand to all existing Whole Foods units over time, driving top line sales, and bottom line profits.

To help edify the new market position of 365, Whole Foods is seeking new, local interactive partners to help 365 reach Millennials.  Expanding on grocerant niche mix and match bundling, 365 is looking for companies the ilk of tattoo parlors, body care products, beverage outlets, and fashion retailers to take space within the new store to help them reach millennials while expanding brand authenticity and home town relevance.

Wall-Street analysts having missed gauged the grocerant niche for the past 25 years, are not ready to embracing 365 and they aren’t buying this new positioning.  That of course is to be expected.  The Halo of ‘better for you’ continues around Whole Foods and that positioning will be edified in 365 you can rest assured.

The undercurrents of competition from the likes of WinCo, Aldi, Lidl, and Trader Joe’s cast a shadow on retail foodservice.  When combined with consumers (Millennials) quest for discover and commodity deflation, price, and positioning will drive brand value and continued customer migration.  365 will win as will Whole Foods.

Jeff Turnas, president of 365 by Whole Foods Market. "We are all eagerly awaiting the opportunity to introduce 365 by Whole Foods Market with the opening of our first store in Los Angeles in just over 100 days. "The first 365 by Whole Foods Market store will open in May in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Stores in Lake Oswego, Ore., and Bellevue, Wash., are slated to open in July and August, respectively. Out team at Foodservice Solutions® can’t wait either! We want to be the first once again to say Congratulation’s 365 and Whole Foods.
