Packaging too Drive Sales at Restaurants, Retail, and Foodservice

When Juice It Up! announced the availability of its new Juice It Up! Pack. Designed for on-the-go convenience, at a 10 percent discount, Johnson noted that grocerant niche Ready-2-Eat and Heat-N-Eat fresh prepared food and beverages are leveraging the power of packaging to drive incremental sales.
It’s clear to see from the picture above that the pack is perfect for group occasions such as office meetings, soccer games and beach days. The Juice It Up! pack comes in three product category options, smoothie, raw juice or blended juice, while each individual item can be customized to its recipient.
Food packaging is driving innovation and change for all segments of food retail.  Johnson noted that food giant Nestle’s CEO Mark Schneider, stated, "Making recycled plastics safe for food is an enormous challenge for our industry. That is why in addition to minimizing plastics use and collecting waste, we want to close the loop and make more plastics infinitely recyclable.

Wegmans Power Meals are Power Full

Grocerant niche Ready-2-Eat and Heat-N-Eat fresh prepared food continues to drive retail sale success in every sector of retail foodservice according to Foodservice Solutions® Grocerant Guru® Steven Johnson. Recently Wegmans Food Markets known for its quality Grocerant niche mix and matched food elevated it’s fresh food game with an new line of proprietary branded grocerant niche mix and match offering called “Power Meals.
Wegmans new branded line of refrigerated Power Meals, are priced from $8 to $15, depending on ingredients, and designed one or two in a mix and match offering style that are perfect for both lunch and dinner. If success does leave clues and it does these new branded Power Meals will be a hit.
Wegmans Nutritionist Kirby Branciforte, RDN  stated “We’ve learned a lot in recent years about how nutrients like protein and fiber can help people feel satisfied longer, so they’re less tempted to make choices which don’t align with their health goals.  We also know what many people struggle with in terms of putting together well-balanced meals. So we created the guidelines for Power Meals for the chefs to Power Meals follow in order to make it easier for folks.”
Wegmans understands that consumers are searching for food products that are ‘better-for-you’. So all of the Power Meals offer 600 calories or fewer, 25 grams or more of protein, at least 5 grams of fiber, less than 1,000 milligrams of sodium, under 10 grams of added sugar, and at least one cup of vegetables.
The first eight developed, now on sale in the Market Café areas of select stores, are Kung Pao Chicken (500 calories), Kung Pao Shrimp (440 calories), King Salmon Tataki (450 calories), Tuna Tataki (330 calories), Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin (390 calories), Black Pepper Salmon (430 calories), Tuna Poke (400 calories), and Ceviche (330 calories). Some stores are carrying a selection of the meals, rather than all of them, according to Wegmans.
Executive Chef John Emerson stated “We did a pilot launch of Power Meals a few of months ago at our Pittsford, N.Y., store, and it’s been incredibly successful,…We listened to our customers, and they wanted easy meal solutions that pack a nutritional punch without compromising on flavor. Power Meals check all of those boxes at a competitive price point.”
Branciforte continued “We know our customers want meals that deliver on both flavor and health”. “We try to offer many different tools to make it easier for families to eat balanced meals in portions that can keep everyone feeling their best.”  Branded mix and match fresh prepared grocerant niche solutions can work for any retailer.
