This Burger King Franchisee Understands Customers

It’s the Holiday season and some franchisees simply know how to build brand value.  In Miami, FL Burger King restaurants are offering a Whopper sandwich in exchange for an unwanted gift, which they in turn will repurpose. Foodservice Solutions® Grocerant Guru® Steven Johnson thinks inviting brand participation is a great way to build brand value.
Here is what they are doing on Boxing Day (December 26) to swap their unwanted present for a flame-grilled Whopper sandwich. The exchange will be taking place in other parts of the world as well at select  location’s in Great Britain and Brazil restaurants as well.
Social good will extends the brand as well. Burger King stated that “The first 100 lucky fans to post a picture on Twitter or Instagram with their questionable gifts using the hashtag #WhopperExchange will get a surprise from the Burger King brand’s social media accounts.”
Fernando Machado, SVP Global Brand Management, for the Burger King brand  stated “At Burger King restaurants, we are always looking for ways to surprise our fans, no matter if they were good or naughty,” The Burger King Exchange will offer our guests the chance to get a flame-grilled gift in exchange for an unwanted one. Because this holiday season, we want everyone to receive something they will love.”
Burger King will donate all gifts to charity, because someone's unwanted gift can be someone else's treasure. Ok very few restaurants in the US will participate this year and they are all in South Florida but how are you giving back this holiday to both your customers and community?
