Apple a day at McDonalds may mean placing your order or reviewing a promotion
on your Apple iPhone. This October McDonald's is planning to launch a new app
with coupons nationally joining the growing list of fast food chains offering
free apps in the App Store and Google Play Store.

Hary, McDonald’s Director of Global Media Relations stated that “the new
McDonald’s app initially will focus on promotional events. Since the mid-1950s,
McDonald's has been synonymous with burgers and fries in the U.S. Now it has
more than 36,000 stores in 120 countries. With this new App McDonald’s aims to
make every McDonald’s your McDonald’s the Geo enabled app personalizes
the McDonalds experience in the palm of your hand for store closest to you according

Hary
continued "Our new app will provide our customers with exclusive mobile
deals, which they simply 'tap and scan' in the restaurant, expanding on our
commitment to deliver value and convenience in a highly accessible way,"
McDonald's
is not static they are dynamic and will continue develop other elements of the
app after the initial launch, Hary stated "We will iterate and innovate on
an on-going basis as we learn more about how our customers use the app and what
they value, with additional features and functionality,"

McDonald’s
is not alone expanding its digital reach
In fact the Taco Bell App was so good Whole Foods recruited the digital
director away from Taco Bell. Starbucks has
rolled out its mobile order and pay feature on the app that allows customers to
customize their Starbucks beverage and see the wait times before selecting a
store for pick up.
Starbucks
mobile pay that began testing in 2011 now represents 20 percent of all in-store
transactions in U.S. that is nearly 9 million mobile payments each week. Showing,
