Florida Breakfast Wars Pit Wawa's Coffee against Florida’s own Daily’s Biscuits

Success does leave clues and Aubrey Edge, CEO of Daily’s the Jacksonville-based convenience store chain is quickly rolling out its own made-to-order kiosks called Dash. An upgraded, made-to- order fresh food platform designed to compete directly with Wawa as Wawa enters the Jacksonville market.

The new platform Dash edifies Daily’s market position with fresh food as made-to-order starts to become the mark of a quality convenience store, with the popularization of stores like Wawa in Florida, Edge has created a way for Daily's customers to get premium products from his store.

“This is part of the evolution of Daily’s,” said Edge. “We want to deliver something to the customer that is more than what they expect.” While Edge says he “didn't create Dash, which was first launched in 2013, because of Wawa's growing popularity.”  It sure helps slow the momentum that is building in Florida around the Wawa brand according to Foodservice Solutions® Grocerant Guru®.

Edge went on to say “You don't win by focusing on someone else, You win by focusing on the customer. We are the best in the industry, offering the highest quality products over anyone else.”

Robert Fallon, is the director of food service and a Culinary Institute of America-trained executive chef. Fallon said the company even has gluten-free designated equipment for those with allergies. The bread, like baguettes for the Boss roast beef sandwich and ciabatta for the store's Italian sandwich, come from famous top bakeries like La Brea in California.

Sheetz success is driven by Made to Order or MTO food and has been a C-store trend setter for years.  The importance of made-to-order Ready-2-Eat and Heat-N-Eat fresh prepared food it is a platform that invites customization, personalization and differentiation for each customer according to Foodservice Solutions® team.

With Ready-2-Eat and Heat-N-Eat fresh prepared food Dash branching into catering which add incremental value to the brand consumers that will prove a positive move.  With coffee as a breakfast customer drive Daily’s new fresh food offerings, local roots will provide a platform to stage a battle for not only breakfast but lunch and dinner as well.
