No one can be wondering how a company with only 85 stores all located in
the Northeastern United States could reach the number one spot on a national
poll for brand reputation. Wegmans did
it based on quality fresh prepared food, consistently delivered with
outstanding customer service.
According
to new Harris Poll findings, Wegmans is No. 1 in the country when it comes
to reputation. Yes Wegmans “edged past online retailer Amazon to reach the top
spot for corporate reputation among the 100 most visible companies, according
to the 16th annual Harris Poll Reputation Quotient study.”
With
not even one tenth of Amazon's revenues, and located exclusively in the
Northeastern U.S. Wegmans Ready-2-Eat and Heat-N-Eat foods has created legions
of devotes according to Foodservice Solutions® Grocerant Guru™. So many devotes that according to Harris Poll
Wegmans was ranked number 1.
"To
be recognized in this way is just incredible," said CEO Danny Wegmans.
"It always starts with our people, who thrill our customers every day and
extend a family feeling in our stores across six states."
"Reputation
is far from static and is a business asset that is earned every day as people
evaluate companies through the lens of what matters most to them. Wegmans has
spent years building a sterling reputation in the communities they serve,
through its employees, one shopping experience at a time," said Carol M.
Gstalder, Reputation & Public Relations Practice Leader for Harris Poll.
